Catching Shiny Pokemon.
The chance of catching a Shiny Pokemon is normally 1 in 8,192. To increase the chances of finding them, obtain the Shiny Charm from Professor Birch for capturing all 718 Pokemon.
Breed two Pokemon from games of two different languages to increase the chances of getting a Shiny Pokemon to 1 in 1,366.
Use one of the rods to go fishing. When you start a battle from fishing, you will have a better chance of getting a Shiny Pokemon if you remain in the space you started in. Use the Suction Cups and Sticky Hold abilities in your lead Pokemon to help do this.
Increasing Pokemon affection.
Increasing your Pokemon's affection level makes them more useful in battles, increasing their chances to cure or heal and land more critical hits. It also increases your chances of getting dГ©cor items. The following PlayNav activities increases affection:
Give Poke Puffs: Increases both affection and fullness. Pet Pokemon: Increases affection, but decreases enjoyment. Play mini-games: Increases enjoyment, but decreases fullness. Play Making Faces mini-game: Increases affection and enjoyment, but decreases fullness.
Standard Poke Puffs come in five flavors (Sweet, Mint, Citrus, Mocha, and Spice) and four levels. The higher the level, the more affection a Pokemon gains by eating it. Their fullness remains unchanged regardless of the Poke Puff level. Completing mini-game only gives rewards with the Poke Puff of its corresponding level. However, if you get a five star rank in a mini-game, you may randomly get a Poke Puff from the next higher difficulty as a reward.
Basic Poke Puffs: Increases affection slightly. It is rewarded for completing mini-games on the Easy difficulty. Frosted Poke Puffs: Increases affection slightly. It is rewarded for completing mini-games on the Normal difficulty. Fancy Poke Puffs: Increases affection substantially. It is rewarded for completing mini-games on the Hard difficulty. Deluxe Poke Puffs: Increases affection significantly. It is rewarded for completing mini-games on the Unlimited difficulty.
Special Poke Puffs will give even more affection than a Deluxe Poke Puff. They can be obtained in the following ways:

The affection level of a Pokemon is indicated by the number of hearts. The lowest affection a Pokemon can have is a single heart. Each level above that gives certain benefits, including those from previous levels. The following are the extra benefits a Pokemon receives for two to five hearts of affection:
Two hearts: Earn 20% extra experience from fights. Three hearts: Chance that a move that would have caused it to faint may instead leave it alive with 1HP. Four hearts: May cure itself of a status condition at the end of a turn. You can pet the Pokemon when the enemy Pokemon faints. The Pokemon may dodge an opponent's attack. Five hearts: Lands more critical hits for 50% extra damage.
There are five categories in the Contest Spectacular: Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Cleverness, and Toughness. Each category has four ranks: Normal, Super, Hyper, and Master. Pokemon advance through ranks by winning the previous one. Use moves that increase your Pokemon's appeal (indicated by hearts), while diminishing the abilities of other Pokemon. The stars at the upper left corner indicate the excitement level of the audience. Use moves with the same number of stars as shown in the corner to excite the audience. The type of category also determines what type of move will increase excitement, and which will decrease it, as indicated below:
Coolness: Coolness moves increase excitement, Cuteness and Cleverness moves decrease it, and Beauty and Toughness have no effect. Beauty: Beauty moves increase excitement, Cleverness and Toughness decrease it and Coolness, and Cuteness has no effect. Cuteness: Cuteness moves increase excitement, Coolness and Toughness decrease it, and Beauty and Cleverness have no effect. Cleverness: Cleverness moves increase excitement, Coolness and Beauty decrease it, and Toughness and Cuteness have no effect. If you excite the audience during a turn, you will gain a bonus Appeal heart for that turn. When all five stars are reached, you will get a Spectacular Talent bonus, and the stars will reset back to zero. Spectacular talents will eventually result in a large Appeal boost and differ with each Pokemon type. As you progress through the ranks, you will begin to get fans and eventually have the option to choose up to ten fans. These fans are located outside the Contest Hall's entrance. Talking to the fans will reward you with gifts, depending on your contest rank. One of those fans is a Breeder who makes costumes for a special Pikachu. This special Cosplay Pikachu can be added to your team and can change into different costumes that are provided by the Breeder. Each costume provides the Pikachu with a different special move. Additionally, those moves and costumes can be used outside of the contest. The costumes are as follows:

Pokeblocks are created with a Pokeblock Kit and Berries. The better the quality of berries used, the better the resulting Pokeblock. The number of berries added to the blender determines the number of Pokeblocks created. The color of the berries will create a specific type of Pokeblock. If multiple types of berries are used, the Pokeblock will favor the color and corresponding effects of the berry that is of the highest quantity. The more berries of the same color used, the higher the chance of creating a Pokeblock+. Additionally, Berries that are harvested in smaller quantities when players grow them have a higher chance of producing a Pokeblock+. Pokemon Crystal also introduced a feature into the Pokйmon series which wouldn't exist again until five years later with the advent of Pokйmon Diamond and Pearl. At the same time Pokйmon Crystal was released in Japan, a new peripheral was released called the Mobile Adapter GB. This Japan Only peripheral allowed you to connect your GameBoy Color up to your mobile phone, and use the mobile phone in order to make connections around the world.
Once you connect the Mobile Adapter to Pokйmon Crystal, two new options will appear on the home screen, Mobile and Mobile Stadium. Mobile, which allows you to connect to it, unlocking the PCC and Battle Tower. Mobile also contains features such as the Name Card Folder which allows for you to track your friends, your own Profile and various other features. Mobile Stadium allowed for the connection with Pokйmon Stadium 2 in order to view battles you have had in full 3D.
The service has since ended, on December 18th 2002, so these features can no longer be used.

The Pokйmon Communication Centre starts off as seeming like an ordinary Pokйmon Centre, but as you activate the Mobile Adapter, the centre opens up. In it, you will find a special Trade Corner, which allows you to trade with various people wirelessly across Japan. It also included the Pokйmon News Network, which gave various updates about the game, as well as details on special downloads.

Located above Route 42 is the first iteraton of the Battle Tower. In the Japanese version, this unlocked with the use of the mobile Adapter and allowed for battle with people across Japan. It also tracked various people, the amount you battled and other such statistics.

To acquire a GS Ball you have to connect the game to the mobile phone with the Pokemon Mobile Phone System GB. This cannot be done in the US. You must have all 16 badges, beat a minigame, and complete a quiz to have the attendent at the Pokemon Communication Center in Goldenrod City give you a GS Ball. Once you have it, take it to Kurt to have him inspect it. After 24 hours he'll tell you about a strange presence in the ball before dashing outside. Follow him and he'll say Ilex Forest is uneasy and that you should check it out with the GS Ball.
The trees will be rustling in the forest. Take the GS Ball to the shrine. When asked if you want to put the GS Ball in the shrine, say yes and Celebi will arrive to challenge you. Celebi holds no special items. Grass/Psychic is weak to Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Dark-, Ice-, and Poison-types and has a double weakness to Bug-types but offers good STAB and learns powerful moves like Giga Drain, Psychic, and Solarbeam. Because you need all 16 badges to fight it but is faced at a low level of 30, it would be wise to bring something that can inflict status before it uses Safeguard but not OHKO it. Be prepared for a long fight as it can heal with Recover.

In addition to the Togepi egg from Gold and Silver, players can obtain a second egg in the Crystal version. This egg can hatch into any of the baby Pokemon, allowing players to potentially receive their favourite Pokemon far earlier in the game than normal, with the special move Dizzy Punch as an added bonus. In the Japanese version, players get an Egg Ticket from the Day Care Man which must be redeemed at the Pokemon Communication Center in Goldenrod City. Any of the baby Pokemon have a 50% rate of being shiny.

Still have some grammar mistakes. Some glitches while you're decorating in the secret base. When you rematch the E4 (higher level), the vs bar only show Cynthia. The PokeNav and some moves display wrong informations. Bag Egg/Invisible thing in PC Box: Sometimes you will have this bug when use PC Storage. That's also a common Emerald's bug. Maybe because you used many cheat codes. You should release the invisible thing in PC box and don't check it. With Bad Egg don't try to hatch it, back up your save file and don't use any cheat are some good ways. A Bad Egg may be in Daycare if you have only one Pokémon there. Check the Daycare again. There is another way to get rid of them by use a DMA + clean Pokémon code. Search google or youtube. After that, remove all codes and save again. The game may freeze (rarely) when you battle some Trainers in Battle Tent. If you get this problem. Reset the game and continue. Pokémon Fire Red Omega (Final Version 1.0)
The starters are now Smoochum, Elekid & Magby. All Wild Pokemon in Grass, on cave floors etc and first time trainer battles have been changed. The majority of VS Seeker battles have been left untouched. The majority of fishing and Surfing locations have had their Wild encounters edited to fit with the change in rods and allow a wider variety. The Old Rod is now located in Viridian, north of the coffee guy. The Good Rod is now located in Vermilion, where the Old Rod used to be.
The Super Rod has not changed locations. Small patches of grass have been added to Viridian, Vermilion, Celadon and Cerulean with new Pokemon inside. The Old Rod no longer fishes just Magikarp; the majority of areas early on in the game relinquish valuable water Pokemon when fished into with the Old Rod. Likewise, most midgameish water will have good Pokemon when fishing with the Good Rod. The National Dex is obtained as soon as you get the PokeDex. Some new areas have been added - these are called Chronum Tower, Ancient Labyrinth and Yggdrasill Forest. These are not accessible until the end of the game. Altering Cave has been changed into a teleporting hub, and now allows you to warp to the aformented Chronum Tower and Ancient Labyrinth, as well as Navel Rock and Birth Island. However it is only open after you give the Sapphire to Celio. The starters from the Kanto, Johto and Hoenn regions are given by people around Kanto. Be sure to talk to new people in PokeCenters, town squares etc as they may be the ones who give you a starter! Expect to see the Hoenn starters first, then the Johto starters and the Kanto starters last. All Gym Leaders, Giovanni battles and Elite Four battles now have six Pokemon to deal with. Certain music has been changed ie the Gym Leader/Elite Four music has been swapped with the Elite Four music from Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald. The Safari Zone has been remodelled to incorporate a wider variety of Pokemon; while the structure is still the same the areas themselves are notably different. Levels throughout the game are overall higher; this is to compensate for the rather larger chunks of EXP you might receive. Some new items have been added throughout the game, including some stones, a Lucky Egg, etcetera. Some legends have had their levels changed. There are some new trainers but not very many at all. Trades in the game have been edited. Some marts have had their stock edited, and the prices of items such as Ultra Balls have been lowered. Some extra dialogue has been added for the second round of the Elite Four. The E4 is now challengeable anytime, even when Lorelei is at Four Island. While this is a paradox, it had to be done to allow the E4 to be challenged at all. Eevee is now Level 30 when obtained. The fossils are now Level 40 when obtained. Lapras in Silph. Co has been replaced with Castform. Someone else will give you Lapras, but it's up to you to find them! Featured throughout the game are some cameo battles of my closest internet friends (though there are one or two missing.) You won't encounter them until the second round E4 is open.

Level up movesets in particular have been edited for 600+ Pokémon. There has also been editing of many evolutions, generally involving those Pokémon who generally had to be traded to be evolved. Blaze Black and Volt White are entirely self-contained; no outside contact is required for anything. Items found in the field have been changed considerably, to include TMs, evolution items and fossils previously only found post-League. The items have been adjusted in such a way that makes it convenient for the game's progress. Where applicable, text has also been changed to reflect these changes. Multiples of certain items, such as the evolution stones, the Lucky Egg and the EXP Share are also given out, all in the name of convenience. It isn't just trainers and wild Pokémon who have had their levels changed; event Pokémon such as Reshiram and Zekrom have also had their levels changed, ensuring that they don't become useless due to the sharp increase in levels. All five in-game trades have also been edited, giving you new possibilities for your team. The exp is weirdly low from certain high levelled opponents. This is to do with the game, though, and is not fixable. It appears to be possible for an error to occur at Driftveil from repeated fishing then leaving. not sure about this one, but be sure to save around there just in case.

The method of capturing Pokйmon has remained the same from Generation IV to Generation V with no new Pokйballs available to effect the outcome. There are, however, two new features which affect the capturing of Pokйmon. which this page will detail.
Introduced within Generation IV, Black & White take this aspect further with many routes and areas allowing for wild Double Battles. These battles take place in the darker grass in routes with higher levelled Pokйmon and will often give you a double battle in the wild. These battles are normal Double Battles but capture of Pokйmon is hindered somewhat here.
In order to capture the Pokйmon, you need to first defeat one of the Pokйmon. Once one of the two Pokйmon have been defeated, you'll be able to throw a PokйBall at the remaining Pokйmon.
A totally new mechanic of capture is the Critical Capture. This feature works like Critical Hits in battle where there is a slight chance that this feature occurs. Critical Capture will be noticed when you throw the Pokйball. It'll pause in mid-air and make a metal noise. When it hits the Pokйmon, it will shake once and capture. This cuts two of the four random calculations out of the overal capture mechanic making it more likely to capture the Pokйmon. However, it can still fail.
The calculation is done by a simple factor depending upon the amount of Pokйmon species you have captured. It will run this calculation based upon the capture value calculated above and will then have another random number based upon the Pokйmon you have captured.

Phione (Pokémon)
While it is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, it can only be obtained by breeding Manaphy or another Phione with Ditto.
It is a member of the sea guardians with Manaphy.
Phione's status as a Mythical Pokémon is often disputed, with contradiction occurring even between official sources.
Phione is a blue Pokémon with a round head and a tiny body. Phione's head is crowned by a flotation sac with a long, ribbon-like antenna. Its mouth is small, and its eyes are large with blue sclera and gray irises. Above its eyes are two blue, circular markings connected to the eyes by a thin black line. Its long, flipper-like arms have rounded tips. Phione has a red, oval gem on its chest and a single rudimentary foot spike.
Phione inflates the sac on its head to drift in the water and search for food. When the water grows warm, it will drift in packs with other members of its species. No matter how far it has drifted, it will always return to the place where it was born.

Multiple Phione debuted in Hold the Phione! . One of them was attracted to Dawn's Buneary, and became jealous upon realizing that Buneary had feelings for Pikachu. This Phione was also temporarily caught by Team Rocket, but it managed to escape.

Phione made its debut in Alternate Dimension Showdown XI , where it was revealed to have hatched from an Egg created by Manaphy. Afterwards it was trained by Diamond and Pearl, where it used Heart Swap, a move Phione is unable to perform in-game.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness: A group of six Phione appeared in Miracle Sea who were driven away by an enraged, treasure-seeking Gyarados and once Gyarados was defeated gave the team the Phione Dew needed to save Manaphy.

Phione is the only Pokémon that is obtainable by breeding a Mythical Pokémon. Breeding either Manaphy or Phione can produce a Phione Egg, but Phione is unable to evolve into Manaphy nor produce Eggs that can hatch into Manaphy. Consequently, Phione and Manaphy are the only Mythical Pokémon that can be bred. Phione, Nidoran♂, Nidoran♀, Illumise and Volbeat are the only Pokémon that can be obtained by breeding a Pokémon they cannot evolve into. Phione has exactly the same base stats as Glalie. Phione is not found in any regional Pokédex.

Phione's status as a Mythical Pokémon is disputed, with several pieces of evidence and even official statements often contradicting each other.
Evidence for.
Pokémon's mailbag was once asked [ dead link ] if Phione was Legendary. The official answer was initially no, but was quickly changed to yes; the whole mailbag section has since been taken down with the restructure of Pokémon. Phione is listed under the Mythical Pokémon section in the Pokémon 2011 Style Guide. Phione is listed as a Mythical Pokémon in the Pokémon Deluxe Essential Handbook. Phione was a usable Pokémon in the Circle of Legends tournament, in which only Legendary and Mythical Pokémon were allowed. Phione is banned from the 2016 Video Game Championships due to being a Mythical Pokémon. Phione is listed as a Mythical Pokémon in a September 2016 Nintendo feature story on Mythical Pokémon. In the Generation VIIGlobal Trade System, if the player chooses to exclude people seeking Mythical or Legendary Pokémon, people seeking Phione will not be displayed. In the Pokémon Ultra Sun & Pokémon Ultra Moon official strategy guide, Phione is listed as a Mythical Pokémon.
Evidence against.
Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver: Prima's Official Strategy Guide states that Phione is not Legendary (a term used at the time to describe both Legendary and Mythical Pokémon) due to it being able to be obtained by hatching Eggs. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, all Mythical Pokémon are referred to as "rare," but Phione is not. It is also found normally in the wild. All Mythical Pokémon are listed in Pokémon Daisuki Club's Mystery File feature website, but Phione is missing. In the Pokémon Ultra Sun & Pokémon Ultra Moon official strategy guide, it says that Manaphy is the only Mythical Pokémon that can breed.
Phione can breed to produce another Phione; this is impossible with any other Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. However, Manaphy can also breed to produce Phione, and Manaphy is a confirmed Mythical Pokémon. Phione is not found in any regional Pokédex, a trait that is otherwise exclusive to Generation IV Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Phione is also not needed to obtain the diploma, a trait otherwise exclusive to Mythical Pokémon. Phione is banned from the Battle Frontier, the Battle Subway, the Pokémon World Tournament, the Battle Maison, and the Battle Tree, a rule which typically applies only to Mythical Pokémon and Special Pokémon; the only non-Mythical Pokémon to have been event-only at one point, Zorua and Zoroark, were allowed in the Battle Subway, indicating Phione's battle facility ban may be due to it being Mythical. Phione is also banned from most online competitions and online battles. In the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series: In Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, Phione has a 100% recruit rate, is never battled, and the player is not allowed to recruit more than one to their team, all of which are traits otherwise only exhibited by Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. In Super Mystery Dungeon, Hoopa is able to summon Phione as an ally. Only Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are able to be summoned in this way. In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Phione can only be unlocked once a certain number of customers have shopped at the Toy Shop, a trait otherwise exclusive to Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Phione was featured in Pokémon's 2012 Pokémon Power Bracket, a single-elimination tournament where all other Pokémon in the bracket were Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. The Pokémon Ultra Sun & Pokémon Ultra Moon: The Official Alola Region Strategy Guide has two separate pieces of conflicting information about Phione's Mythical status within itself.
Phione is probably based on sea angels, specifically clione. Clione are remarkably popular in Japanese documentaries, especially in Hokkaido, on which Sinnoh is based (this may also explain their appearance in Chocovine Town).
Name origin.
Phione may be a combination of the final syllable of Manaphy and clione (sea angels). Like clione, Phione is pronounced in three syllables.
